About the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission

We asked the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission to share a few words about their purpose and mission. Here they are in their own words:

As ministers of reconciliation, we are to facilitate the reconciliation of men and women to God, to themselves, and to society. Those in need of recovery due to loss of job, home, health, emotional, mental or spiritual support, or physical or substance abuse find themselves drawn to our ministry. We are to facilitate that reconciliation through the available means of this Mission, i.e. food, clothing, shelter, counseling and discipleship. Through these modalities we pave the way for them to be reconciled.

About the Central Coachella Valley

The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission makes its home in Indio, California. The City of Indio is the City of Festivals. In recent years, the Coachella Music Festival has become one of their best known. However, the area hosts many more large events throughout the year. There is the Tamale Festival in December, theĀ Stagecoach Country Music Festival in May, and the Desert Oasis Music Festival in October to name a few. The Coachella Valley hosts the Tour de Palm Springs bike event in February and the Patriot bike event in October.

The region’s moderate desert climate provides year round opportunities for outdoor events and fun in the sun. Likewise, the area’s climate has made it a popular area to live for millions of people. As of 2015, Riverside County is now the 10th most populous county in the United States (source: Desert Sun). Given all the people in the area, the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission is blessed with many opportunities to serve and give back to the community of Indio and beyond. You can help the CVRM make a difference in the greater Indio area by donating your items via the form on this website today.
