Who picks up donations in Jacksonville
We may not have a featured partner in Jacksonville that can guarantee a pickup, but we have a network of nonprofits we can ask. Your request goes to every one of them within 15 miles of your address: thrift stores, furniture banks, shelters and other charities that run their own trucks.
It’s first come, first served. Depending on what you’re giving and how full their routes are, you might hear from two or three organizations or from none. Whoever can use your items contacts you directly, usually within 48 hours. If nobody has reached out by then, no nonprofit took the request.
Priority Pickup. Check the Priority Pickup box on the same form and a provider will contact you to quote a fee. It’s the right choice when you need a firm date, have items nonprofits won’t take, or are clearing out a whole house. You can request both at once and take whichever offer works.
What’s different about a pickup in Jacksonville
Put these details in your request. Nonprofits say yes more often when they know what they’re walking into.
- Military moves. With NAS Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport nearby, PCS moves pick up in summer. Request early if you’re on a move timeline.
- Storms and humidity. Hurricane season runs June through November. Keep upholstery and mattresses indoors; crews turn down damp or mildewed pieces.
- Beach parking. Street parking at the beaches is tight in summer. Tell us where a truck can stop.
Neighborhoods and suburbs we serve
We route requests from Riverside, Avondale, San Marco, Springfield, Murray Hill, Ortega, Mandarin, Arlington, the Southside, Baymeadows, the Northside, the Westside and Oceanway, plus Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Orange Park and Ponte Vedra. Which nonprofits get yours depends on your zip code and what you’re donating; the form checks coverage when you enter it.
Donating furniture in Jacksonville
Furniture is the most requested pickup. Sofas, dressers, dining sets and bed frames in clean, intact condition are what nonprofits want; mattresses and damaged upholstery usually aren’t. See what furniture qualifies for free pickup before you submit. If your piece doesn’t qualify, Priority Pickup takes it for a fee. If you were hoping Goodwill or the Salvation Army would come, see whether Goodwill picks up furniture and how Salvation Army pickup works.
