Who picks up donations in Knoxville
KARM Stores is the partner for free pickups. KARM Stores have served Knoxville since 1960, with more than 20 locations; what you donate funds Knox Area Rescue Ministries. Furniture, clothing and household goods in good condition are welcome. They pick up at no charge when your items qualify, because what they collect is resold to fund their work.
Priority Pickup: The Good Truck picks up items that don’t qualify, handles cleanouts and moves on a deadline, and quotes a fee up front. Choose Priority Pickup on the form when a nonprofit can’t take your items or you need them gone this week.
What’s different about a pickup in Knoxville
Tell us these up front and we match you with a partner that can handle it:
- Hills and gravel drives. Give a landmark or note the driveway for addresses off the main roads.
- Game days. Fall Saturdays around campus are avoided by crews; pick a weekday if you’re near UT.
- Garages and carports. Staging items under cover lets a crew pick up even if you’re out.
Neighborhoods we serve
Partners serve North, East, South and West Knoxville, Fountain City, Bearden, Sequoyah Hills, Old North, Fourth and Gill, Halls, Powell, Karns, Farragut, Solway, Seymour and Maryville. Availability varies by zip code and item; enter your zip code and the form checks coverage for you.
Donating furniture in Knoxville
Furniture is the most requested pickup. Sofas, dressers, dining sets and bed frames in clean, intact condition are welcome with most partners; mattresses and damaged upholstery usually aren’t. See what furniture qualifies for free pickup before you submit. If your piece doesn’t qualify, Priority Pickup takes it for a fee. Hoping Goodwill or the Salvation Army would come instead?
