Who picks up donations in the Coachella Valley
Coachella Valley Rescue Mission is the partner for free pickups. Coachella Valley Rescue Mission has served the Valley’s homeless and needy since 1971, serving more than 340,000 meals a year and sheltering men, women and children. Furniture, clothing and household goods in good condition fund that work. They pick up at no charge when your items qualify, because what they collect is resold to fund their work.
Priority Pickup. If CVRM can’t take your items, choose Priority Pickup on the form and we’ll pair you with a local hauler who quotes a fee up front.
What’s different about a pickup in the Coachella Valley
Tell us these up front and we match you with a partner that can handle it:
- Heat. From May to October, crews start early; a morning window is the easiest to get, and items should stay out of the garage heat until pickup day.
- Gated and seasonal communities. Give the gate code and, for snowbird properties, a local contact who can open up.
- Season. Winter and spring (and Coachella and Stagecoach weekends) are the busiest; request a week ahead.
Neighborhoods we serve
Partners serve Indio, Coachella, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Cathedral City, Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, Thousand Palms, Bermuda Dunes and Mecca. Availability varies by zip code and item; enter your zip code and the form checks coverage for you.
Donating furniture in the Coachella Valley
Furniture is the most requested pickup. Sofas, dressers, dining sets and bed frames in clean, intact condition are welcome with most partners; mattresses and damaged upholstery usually aren’t. See what furniture qualifies for free pickup before you submit. If your piece doesn’t qualify, Priority Pickup takes it for a fee. Hoping Goodwill or the Salvation Army would come instead?
